Gorda Pasteleria Artesania is now open in Bacolod City. Gorda Pastelería Artesania was previously an online only store, where you could order delicious pastries. now they’ve opened up a new physical store with a restaurant where you could enjoy their pastries as well as have awesome meals.

The interior of Gorda is in shades of muted cream and white and it makes the place nice and elegant looking. The seats at the far end of the store look particularly cozy.
The centerpiece of Gorda is this big wall with all sorts of nooks and crannies. The seats here are different. This area looks like a scene from an IKEA furniture store. Everything is just arranged pleasingly and the muted tones makes one feel relaxed.
When the curtains are drawn, plenty of light spills in and the place looks absolutely breath taking. You have a view of The Hub courtyard and the parking lot.
The second floor dining area is only for big groups that have a reservation. The stairs leading up to the second floor is very pretty and has bright LED lighting.
The food at Gorda is great! We recommend starting with the Mediterranean butter board and pairing it with Gorda’s torched beef carpaccio

We were recommended this main dish – torched beef carpaccio. It’s Beef Tenderloin, seared and sliced thin with garlic herb butter. We ate this with the excellent breads found at the pastry area of the shop.
Everyone should at least try the Swedish meatballs at Gorda! No need to go to IKEA when we can have it right here in Bacolod City. These are so good. It comes with mashed potatoes, pickled onions, cucumber and some jam on the side.
Another great dish is the Grilled Bacon chop. It comes with gravy, mashed potatoes and a side of adlai. Nice!
The only dish that we didn’t enjoy was the Frango Piri Piri. The chicken was dry, old, obviously reheated. The adlai, camote chips and spicy sauce was very good though.
Gorda has an extensive selection of pastries. They all sell out pretty quickly so come around 1pm when the new batch of pastries arrive from their commissary kitchen.
Cinnamon bun with frosting. Very good and one of Gorda’s most popular desserts.
Kouign amman. This is a buttery, sugary, multi layered pastry that Gorda is famous for. It literally means “butter cake”.
Another famous dish that Gorda is known for is their Pastelitos Cubanos De Queso. It’s a puff pastry filled with a sweet creamy cheese. Quite addicting.
Their tarts are also quite good! You can get the Portuguese egg tart which is custard on a bed of flaky pastry.
The Hokkaido cheese tarts are delicious – a cream cheese filling on the same flaky pastry.
The hardest thing to find at Gorda’s are the quiches. They’re filled with egg, ham and cheese and supposed to be a breakfast food. However since Gorda opens at 11 and the pastries don’t get delivered until around 2 or 3 pm, this is a missed opportunity to capitalize on the breakfast crowd.
Vanilla Oat Latte – had to wait until 11 to have a coffee. Definitely hoping that Gorda fixes its schedule soon.
Gorda Pastelería Artesania is located at The Hub, Unit 6-8 Lot 15, La Salle Ave, Brgy. Villamonte, Bacolod City. Open from 11am-9pm Mondays to Sundays.
