Nene & Carmen has now been in business for 26 years. Their secret to their success is serving quality meals and Filipino dishes while being budget and student friendly.

In fact, they used to keep a big logbook of students account who would dine on “utang” or credit. If you were one of these naughty students who never settled their bill, your balance is still there in one of the logbooks somewhere!

Nene & Carmen’s most famous dishes are their super saucy Spareribs meal, their sisig meal and their hamburgers and cheeseburgers.

What’s really unique is that Nene & Carmen’s spareribs and sisig come with plenty of sauce and gravy!

At Nene & Carmen, they first cook with a brown, soy based – sauce. Then they add gravy and a small piece of butter. After it has all cooked up, the resulting dish, sauce and all is placed of freshly steamed white rice.

It is not uncommon for people to have two, or even three cups of rice with their meal. You can even have extra sauce prepared.

Nene & Carmen has weathered the years with a small exception. This pandemic, they’ve embraced delivery services such as Food Panda, Maxim and Grab. But for many – a visit to their location and to taste their food is a trip down memory lane.
