Omotenashi Ramen BCD is a new restaurant in Bacolod that specializes in serving Japanese ramen. This restaurant is one of the numerous Japanese Ramen shops in Bacolod City. Is it worth visiting? Read more to find out our impressions of Omotenashi Ramen..
Omotenashi Ramen is located at Units 106 and 111 at the new Dinke & Chuckie building on Circumferential road, Bacolod City (across from Jack and Jill School.) The interior is minimalistic with a red, white and black color motif. Murals of a bamboo forest, a lady in a kimono and a bowl of ramen brighten up the place with splashes of color.
The service is quite good at Omotenashi with the waiters helpful in explaining the Ramen and the best selling dishes. The preparation was quite fast and soon after we were seated our Ramen and side dishes began arriving.
For our first Ramen bowl, we chose the Tori Paitan Ramen. Omotenashi touts this as being a special Bacolod inspired dish since this Ramen has grilled chicken inasal! We gave it a go and wow, it is extremely good!
The grilled chicken was fantastic. Omotenashi Ramen had left the skin on the pieces and it was very flavorful, tasty and marinated just perfectly. The texture of the crispy grilled chicken skin goes so well with the broth and the firm noodles. Highly recommended. The amount is generous too.
There’s some menma (bamboo shoots) and ramen egg that also add some flavor. We hoped that the yolk would be a little runnier and softer but its just a small issue of ours that hardly affects this dish.
We also got the Shoyu Ramen. It’s got roasted pork – also very well executed, the pork fat is slightly crispy from the grilling and the pork is moist and juicy. We found a generous slice in our ramen. Quite ok but this can’t hold a candle to the Tori Paitan.
We also got Omotenashi Ramen BCD’s Shrimp Mango roll. It’s a pork and shrimp mixture wrapped in a rice paper, deep fried and drizzled with a mango sauce. The rice paper is both crispy and chewy and the mango sauce gives the whole thing a slightly sweet taste. Quite good.
Omotenashi Ramen BCD’s Gyoza are a little sweetish for our taste. Some people might like their gyoza that way but for us it’s definitely a no.
Omotenashi Ramen BCD is really quite impressive. Their Ramen is quite good and the sides are delicious. The menu doesn’t have a lot of items but what they do have is pretty good.
