Habits Bar & Cafe

Habits Bar & Cafe is the newest restaurant at Licuala Grandis Food park in Bacolod City. During the mornings the first floor of Habits Bar & cafe is open – serving food and coffee but during the evenings the second floor bar area opens and Habits transforms into a trendy, beautiful watering hole.

The first floor of Habits Bar & Cafe is an airconditioned dining area. Decor and interior is minimalistic, basically an industrial look.

Service is quite good as the waitress without prompting filled up a pitcher with ice as service water for us.  She kept coming back to help us with the menu and our orders.

The menu has quite a lot of appetizers and drinks so we decided to order the most popular dishes and drinks to fully experience the place.

We got the creamy white chicken.  It is basically chicken breasts in a rich, silky-smooth mushroom cream sauce. The dish is very creamy tasting and the mushroom and chicken flavors complement each other.  It is okay enough for the price.

The pork backribs were surprisingly crispy – almost like lechon kawali.  Plenty of fried garlic was sprinkled over the top and a sweet brown sauce drizzled temptingly over the meat.

Salisbury steak – for those who are not familiar with the term is a fancy term for hamburger steak.  Habits Bar and Cafe’s version is served sizzling hot with a creamy garlic sauce in a cute cast iron pan.

For drinks we tried Habits bar & cafe’s butterbeer.  It is an alcoholic drink infused with caramel-like flavor.  Quite sweet and pleasing!  I suggested to the staff to indicate on the menu that it is alcoholic otherwise kids might order it by mistake.

For those old enough to drink, it is very refreshing and a pleasant change from ordinary beer.

Habits Bar & Cafe is conveniently located near USLS – they serve breakfast and their doors open as early as 7am – for those wanting a quick bite before heading to school or work.    The bar opens at 4pm so people who want cocktails or a few drinks before heading home can conveniently do so.
