Did you know that the Upper East house in Megaworld Bacolod has an awesome dining destination? Head to the back of the house and you will find Sucré by Liz & Mom. This is a delightful tiny restaurant that serves very tasty dishes! It’s one of Bacolod city’s popular “hidden” restaurants.
The Upper East house by Megaworld is designed to look like an old Spanish house. It’s very pretty and it gives Sucré by Liz & Mom a very distinct look!
There’s dining spaces outside on the Veranda but since Sucré by Liz & Mom is so popular, this spot fills up really fast.
Sucré by Liz & Mom was begun by Elizabeth Palacios “Liz” who was inspired by watching her mom bake and cook. They first started out baking cakes and cookies and would attend events. Eventually “Liz & Mom” decided to start a restaurant.
The interior of Sucré by Liz & Mom is European inspired, featuring simple tones accented by a few bright colors. The muted tones and the stark white plates and china make the food stand out beautifully.
Here’s a closer look at the amazing food we tried at Sucré by Liz & Mom.
Sucré by Liz & Mom has Balbacua! Balbacua is a Filipino beef stew that’s been cooked for 48 hours so that the meat is soft and tender. It is served with slices of buttered toast The meat is so soft that you can take chunks of it and spread it on the toast!
We ordered another main dish – Kansi steak with grilled bone marrow, garlic, tomato, chili pepper and a grilled langka!
The sauce is a delightfully sour sauce that goes very well with the soft beef and the marrow!
If you’re tired of eating street-style beef pares, give Sucre’s version a shot. The beef is very soft and tender and the soup isn’t “weird” like street style pares – it is sweetish and savory at the same time.
The noodles are firm and the flavor is just right. Highly enjoyable – and the portion size is large – good for sharing!
Everyone will want a bowl of this!
As part of their new menu, Sucré by Liz & Mom is introducing all day breakfast dishes. We tried their French toast.
This is an absolute delight – All day breakfast of French toast, Jamon, mixed berry reduction, Kesong Puti and fresh fruits.
Slices of delicious golden toast is drizzled with maple syrup and lovingly dusted with a sprinkle of confectioners sugar. For a savory kick, there’s tasty slices of ham and to add sweetness, there’s a mixed berry reduction and fresh fruits (pineapple)
They use locally made kesong puti and it made the entire thing is super good.
Highly recommended – You can have this a breakfast or a dessert!
This is a very aromatic dish that filled the restaurant with the delightful aroma of Truffle as it was served! It came with slices of Lomo Negresco ham. Very creamy and tasty dish. This is the best truffle cream pasta we’ve ever had in Bacolod, beating even the pasta at D______.
Highly recommended for pasta lovers. The dish is good for sharing, but trust us – everyone will want to have their own platter!
The staff at Sucré by Liz & Mom is attentive, kind and very capable.
Naturally, dessert was a must, given Sucré’s origins as a bakery. As the sun began to set, we made our way to the garden for a quick photo session!
Don’t miss the cheesecake – it’s a must-try! Decadently coated in a rich chocolate tablea sauce, It’s a simple but amazing flavor combination.
This dark chocolate cookie has speculoos cookie and chocolate chips. It’s incredibly soft and moist, with the dark chocolate flavor balanced by the speculoos. Highly recommended for anyone who loves cookies and dark chocolate!
Sucré by Liz & Mom offers a delightful dining experience with delicious food, impeccable service, and a charming atmosphere. We highly recommend making a reservation to experience this hidden gem for yourself.
