Chigue House of Kimchi is a popular restaurant in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental Philippines that dishes up delicious Korean fusion rice bowls and Ramyun.
Chigue House of Kimchi first got its start out of a converted residence at 309 Berne St, Helvetia Heights Subdivision, Brgy Villamonte Bacolod City. As the restaurant grew in popularity, the owners expanded to have their second branch located at the Fiesta Market food court at the Ayala Malls Capitol Central in Bacolod City.

If you were to go to their first branch, you’d have a hard time parking and getting there by commute as the first Chigue House of Kimchi is located at a busy intersection. There’s practically no place to park without blocking the street. They’re also closed on Sundays so head to the second branch at the Ayala Malls Capitol Central Fiesta Market where it is open all days of the week and much more accessible.
There are a lot of items on the menu! Chigue House of Kimchi mostly has rice bowls that are more of a fusion between Filipino and Korean food. They also have Teriyaki style rice bowls but the most popular ones are the rice bowls with kimchi. Each meal comes with a glass of soda!
One of the best selling dishes at Chigue House of Kimchi is their Kimchidobo rice bowl which is a fusion of Chicken Adobo – a Filipino dish and Korean style rice made with a gochujang sauce. This trademark spicy rice is used throughout all of Chigue House of Kimchi’s dishes. The rice is soft, flavorful and quite tasty.
Chigue House of Kimchi has a Kimchi Pasta that we tried. It is super duper sweet and spicy. We’re not big fans of it. It comes with bacon, onions and sesame seeds sprinkled on the top. Some might like the taste combination. We just find it too odd.
For appetizers we tried these cheese sticks. They’re deep fried and crispy.
There are two kinds of Ramyun available at Chigue House of Kimchi. You can choose between the Cheesy Ramyun and the Spicy Ramyun. Either dish is very eye catching and will make fellow diners in the food court stare. The bowls are massive!
Our Ramyun of choice at Chigue House of Kimchi is the Cheesy Ramyun. It is a special creamy, cheesy ramyun soup topped with a slice of cheese and served with a hard boiled egg. If you can’t handle spicy food, ask for the Ramyun to be less spicy as although it is cheese flavor, the spiciness level is still a bit too high.
There are many ricebowls with assorted toppings at Chigue House of Kimchi. You can have Fried Longanisa, Bacon, Lumpia shanghai and Spam ricebowls. Each ricebowl comes with a fried, sunny side up egg and the aforementioned spicy rice.
You can choose to add kimchi to your ricebowl for a minimal additional amount. We ordered additional kimchi when we got this Shanghai Ricebowl from Chigue House of Kimchi. If you like their Kimchi, Chigue also sells tubs of the stuff. Just ask the cashier.
Our absolute favorite Ricebowl at Chigue House of Kimchi is the Superbowl. It has everything on it! It has bacon, Spam, Longanisa, Lumpia shanghai and an egg. It is a super duper good meal. Order this!
They also have big bilao platters to take along to parties!
There’s a lot more on the menu at Chigue House of Kimchi. Give them a try whether it’s at their original location at Berne street or at the fiesta market in ayala malls capitol central. They’re also on Grab and Food Panda so feel free to order away!
