Check out Tacos ni Toti – a Mexican restaurant in Bacolod City!
Tacos ni Toti has two branches. One is located at the Vintage Garage Car Wash compound on Buri Road, Mandalagan Bacolod City. The other one is located at the new CLM food Park on CL Montelibano street.
The Vintage Garage Carwash compound is pretty easy to get to. Nearby landmarks are the mountain view subdivision and the City Mall Mandalagan.
The Vintage Carwash compound is enormous! There are several places to eat here. There’s even a laundry shop. It’s nice to eat somewhere where you can have some nice fresh air.
If you’re wondering why the place is called Vintage Car wash, it’s because there’s an old vintage car somewhere in the back that you can view and take pictures with.
The Tacos ni Toti shop at the Vintage Car Wash is located in a kubo or wooden hut. There’s plenty of seating and there’s a small tree nearby that gives some shade over some of the tables. Very cute and simple place.
The other branch at the CLM Food Park is quite interesting. It’s an old repurposed house and the park is in the garden. There’s plenty of seating and its cool and breezy. It’s also a popular nighttime chill and relax spot.
Here’s the current menu of Tacos ni Toti. Most of the tacos are in the 100 peso to 120 peso range. They have Tenderloin, chicken, chorizo, Fish, Calamares and Sisig Tacos. For sidings you can have nachos, chili con carne and rice toppings. Very affordable!
We ordered several things to try from Tacos ni Toti. We got the all meat carnitas (120 php). The carnitas came on a bed of chopped onions and tomatoes and was garnished with cilantro, and lime. The tacos were surprisingly of the soft flour variety (which we prefer) and not the hard shell ones. Very nice and addicting.
Tacos ni Toti is the only place in Bacolod that serves seafood tacos and we are glad that they have both fish and squid (calamares) tacos on the menu.
The Calamares or squid taco is somewhat odd for our tastes. For starters there was too much mayo-ketchup sauce and the strips of cucumber were a bit too thick. Next time when we order this again we will ask the cook to reduce the sauce or even omit it entirely.
The fish Taco consists of a nice piece of fish with a lighter sauce. Very nice. Gobbled this up in one bite.
Beef Burritos! This came with a nice, delicious mexican sauce and lime wedges. It is stuffed to the brim.
Another great item on Tacos ni Toti’s menu is the “El Dinamita” or Spicy taco. The concept and execution is great. A spicy chili pepper is wrapped in a roll and deep fried, placed on top of ground beef, tomatoes and onions and slathered with a cheese sauce. Tasty and the pepper has a bit of a kick to it. This is their best seller.
Tacos ni Toti also has cocktails and mixed drinks! We ordered a margarita to go with all the food that we ordered.
Tacos ni Toti is a great place for open air dining and mexican food. They’re also available on Grab Food for delivery orders! Check them out! They’re constantly adding new things to the menu too!
