Sugaree Cafe and Gelato is located on the ground floor of the O Square building along Circumferential Road.

The owners Michael Strauss and Eylonah Strauss , have over 30 years of combined experience in the restaurant business!

Sugaree Cafe and Gelato Bacolod is named after a Grateful Dead song, and fans of the band will love the dancing bears 🐻on a full-length mural in the main dining area!

The inside of Sugaree Cafe and Gelato is cool, warm, and inviting! 🎨🖼️ Artwork covers the walls, and the main attraction is a stunning full-length mural, with rainbow-colored cushions 🌈 at the far end of the room! 🛋️

We highly recommend Sugaree Cafe and Gelato’s 🍋 Lemon Meringue donut—it’s got a zesty, lemony taste with a rich lemon cream filling. Think a lemony brazo de mercedes donut!

The 🍠 Ube and ☕ Coffee Lover donuts are also filled, with ube cream and coffee cream, 🥛respectively, while the 🍫 Triple Chocolate donut is bursting with a chocolate crumb crust and a decadent chocolate filling!

On the left, we have Peter with the Iced Berry Hibiscus Tea 🍒🌺, while Giovanni holds up the Green Tea Lemon Fizz 🍋🍵—an excellent combination of Matcha and Lemon! Super refreshing! 🌿💧

The Green Tea Lemon Fizz has a floating matcha layer that is sour and lemony so make sure to stir it well before drinking.

When Sugaree Cafe and Gelato was being planned, the owners thought it would be just another ordinary coffee and dessert shop. However, things changed when Mike Strauss introduced sandwiches and pizza, which quickly became best sellers.

The sandwiches at Sugaree Cafe and Gelato are unlike anything Bacolod has seen before. The menu features unique options such as meatball subs, crispy chicken vodka sandwiches, eggplant parmigiana sandwiches, and, of course, the popular Philly cheesesteak and chicken cheesesteak.

What’s a parmigiana? It’s an Italian dish with cheese and marinara sauce.

Sugaree has the Meatball Parmigiana with cheese, marinara sauce and homemade pesto.

Their eggplant parmigiana sandwich offers a vegetarian twist. It consists of breaded and fried slices of eggplant layered with marinara sauce and melted mozzarella, placed inside Sugaree’s signature toasted roll.

A Philly cheesesteak is a classic American sandwich that originated in Philadelphia. Sugaree Cafe and Gelato’s version features thinly sliced beefsteak topped with melted cheese and placed inside their signature crusty roll accompanied by sautéed onions,

Sugaree has pizzas too! There’s a wide variety of flavors. They have two sizes of pizza – an 8×10 pizza (Detroit style) and a larger pizza 10×14 that’s a Sicilian style pizza.

The pizza is square and the edge has a delicious crispy cheese crust that is absolutely addicting.
