Have you ever heard of Snackee? It’s Negros Island’s very own, local fast food chain, and it’s been around since 1983! Some people even remember the very first Snackee, called Snack Plaza. Back then, it was on the corner of San Sebastian Street and Areneta Avenue (where a building called Emcor is now).

Today, Snackee has two locations, one in Binalbagan and another in Kabankalan. The Binalbagan branch is super cool because it has furniture and decorations straight out of the 1980s! Talk about a trip down memory lane!
Snackee’s main course is all about crispy, fried chicken. But they also have some surprising dishes on the menu. The owner is Indian because they have things like chicken biryani (which is not available most of the time) and a spicy chicken burger flavored with masala spice, an Indian seasoning. Even their noodle soup, lomi, has flavors you wouldn’t normally find in Filipino food.

If you ever get a chance to visit Snackee, we totally recommend the spicy chicken burger. It’s one-of-a-kind, with a unique Indian spice that’s actually really tasty.

Snackee might not be a giant fast food chain, but it’s a special part of Negros’ food history. It was so much fun to visit this local gem!
