Veego: Plant based meals in Bacolod City

Who knew eating Vegetables 🥦 could be so good? Or that vegetables can taste like FRIED CHICKEN?? 🍗

We tried out the awesome 🥬 plant powered meals at Veego An awesome restaurant located on hilado street (near K-mart beside EFO Fabrics).

The restaurant is so tiny that only a few diners can be seated. There’s only three tables. However, It is a super popular place filling up rather quickly during lunch and dinner with people who can’t get enough of their plant based meals. 🫑🥒🌽

Our meal started by us ordering their famous mushroom chips. 🍄‍🟫 These are deep fried enoki and oyster mushrooms that are super crunchy.

Among the mushrooms you will find basil leaves that add dashes of delicious flavor. They’re so good, even our three year old niece loved eating them!

You can also try some fried mushrooms and rice!

For our mains we had their amazing Mushroom Fillet. These are oyster mushrooms but — they taste like FRIED CHICKEN! 😱 This dish is absolutely incredible and a must try when you visit VEEGO.

Another dish that we ordered was their Mediterranean Tofu Bowl.
Now, some of you might equate tofu with being bland and tasteless but veego manages to make their tofu very flavorful – it’s just like eating chicken inasal! The tofu bowl came with chickpeas,🥗 lettuce, some pickled ginger, hummus and a 🍅🥒 tomato-cucumber salsas with garlic sauce. This is all served over a bed of rice. Very enjoyable although we wished that we could have mentioned that we wanted less rice.

The classic tofu sisig is so tasty! The taste is very similar to a chicken inasal. The taste will convert even the most devout meat lover to giving this dish a try. It is also served It is a must order when you visit Veego!

We also ordered their Tom Kha Gai. It is their thai version of a soup but instead filled with vegan and healthy ingredients.

Check out veego today at Hilado street!! Call ahead for reservations. The place can get extremely full during lunch and dinner time. Take note that since this is a small restaurant, you will need to HAVE PATIENCE because they can’t cook the food that fast. You will need to wait a bit but trust us, the food is definitely worth it!
