Aghaz Biryani and BBQ is a new restaurant that is also the most authentic Pakistani restaurant in Bacolod City! 🇵🇰 They are located in the NGC Marketplace, beside Bacolod City’s New Government Center!

The entrance to Aghaz Biryani and BBQ has an Arabic motto above the door. The entrance has slippery tiles, so watch your step when it’s wet, or you might slip! The steps are also a bit high.
Right beside the door is a fascinating collection of display food showing the menu items that Aghaz Biryani has. These look so realistic! There’s nothing like this in Bacolod City!
Look at the amazing detail on these! The fried chicken looks so realistic, and the cabbage, and the ice cubes!
The interior of Aghaz Biryani and BBQ is simple. There is Pakistani artwork on the walls, and the chairs are upholstered in orange. Orange is considered a lucky color.
There are several diner style seats in Aghaz Biryani and BBQ. These are super soft and cozy!
For those who want a bit of privacy at Aghaz Biryani and BBQ, there’s also a small function room to the side of the main dining area with sofas and soft pillows.
We ordered a solo beef biryani at Aghaz Biryani and BBQ, but the portion size was so big – three people could eat it!
We got chili naan and beef butter curry – it had chunks of butter floating in the curry. Super delicious!
There’s a LOT of curry dishes on the menu. Chicken, mutton and beef! We chose the Beef butter curry and boy – this was SO GOOD. We paired it with Green chili naan!
The naan is extremely good. There are several types and stuffings (see the menu provided below) but we chose the green chili naan which also came with a sauce. We chose this to pair with the beef butter curry! You can see the small green chilis and seeds in the naan.
Green chili naan and beef butter curry – a match made in heaven
When the biryani of Aghaz Biryani and BBQ first came out, we were so surprised! This looked so colorful with the reds, whites and greens. It looked like flowers or fireworks! The smell and taste is fantastic! The colors are especially symbolic!
The lucky colors in Pakistan are green and white. Green is the national color of Pakistan and is associated with Islam, peace, and prosperity. White is also a sacred color in Islam and is associated with purity and cleanliness.
There’s cashew nuts, golden raisins and plenty more! Very beautiful, super good!
If you dig down into the colorful biryani, you will see the chunks of meat. It’s extremely tasty!
We took a chance and ordered something randomly. We chose the Chicken Namkeen Boli, which turned out to be Spiced BBQ chicken on a sizzling plate.
Iced Chai! It’s super tasty, especially for those who love Chai. This spiced Indian tea is very satisfying, with lots of fragrant spices like cinnamon and nutmeg, among others.
Why is this restaurant authentic and Halal? The chefs are from Pakistan! It’s super good! A lot of influencers in Bacolod throw the term “authentic” carelessly around without doing proper research. Well, let us tell you that this restaurant is as authentic as it can get for Bacolod City!
Aghaz is truly authentic and a must-visit in Bacolod City. Here are several reasons why you must go to Aghaz:
🍽️ Over 100 Pakistani dishes and drinks to try.
👨🍳 The chefs are from Pakistan.
🌶️ The taste is not watered down for Filipino tastes. You get the authentic spices and flavors. There are no cheap gimmicks here.
🏆It’s rare for us to get excited over a restaurant!🏆 Highly recommended, and we didn’t ask for freebies, promotions, or sponsorship – so you guys know this place is damn good!
There’s a slight problem with the staff. They’re new and they don’t know what most of the dishes are. For first-timers to this type of cuisine, you can still ask the staff for the recommended best sellers. Real adventurers should research what the items on the menu are by googling them. You will be surprised at how many good and tasty things are on the menu!
