Indulge in Mouth-watering Fried Lumpia at Lumpyaas: A Mother-Daughter Success Story

At Bacolod Food Hunters, we’re always on the lookout for hidden gems that offer not only delicious food but also inspiring success stories. That’s why we’re excited to share our latest discovery, Lumpyaas – a small store in Bacolod City that specializes in fried lumpia.

Blink and you’ll miss this hole in the wall lumpia shop. For big orders call ahead because there’s just the two of them so give them some lead time

What makes Lumpyaas unique is not just its mouth-watering lumpias but also the inspiring story of the mother-daughter team who runs the store. From starting in the balcony of their house during the pandemic to opening their small store after two years of hard work, Lumpyaas is a testament to the power of perseverance and passion.

The dynamic duo hard at work. They cook the filling, roll the lumpia, and fry and clean. Everything is done by these two. Even if you are a newcomer you will feel very welcome and like a regular customer when you chat with them.

As soon as we entered the store, we felt the warmth and welcoming atmosphere that the owners, who are friendly and chatty, exuded. It was great to know that the mom is actually a retired teacher from one of our schools, USLS. We enjoyed chatting with her and the other customers, feeling quite at home and comfortable.

The inside is yellow with triangle seats (that remind us of cheese) and murals of lumpias falling out of pipes decorate the walls

Now let’s talk about the star of the show – the lumpias. Lumpyaas offers a range of flavors such as spicy, regular, cheesy, and our personal favorite, chili cheese. The lumpias are perfectly fried and crispy, and they pair well with the epic sweet and sour sauce that the store offers. They also have a special vinegar “sinamak” sauce that adds a kick of flavor.

We ordered all of the lumpia flavors. They’re all very good but our favorite is the chili cheese lumpia which combines the tastiness of a lumpia cheese stick, dynamite spiciness and lumpia shanghai.

As we were trying out all the lumpia flavors, we noticed a steady stream of delivery orders from Grab and Foodpanda. This is a great indicator that Lumpyaas is already popular among locals who appreciate good food.

These large ones are lumpia togue (bean sprouts) and ubod respectively.

If you’re looking for a perfect merienda, party dish, or snack, Lumpyaas is the place to go. You cannot just eat one or two lumpias. You’ll be like Pacman gobbling away at these golden nuggets of fried goodness.

A box of assorted lumpias. Multiple flavors, two kinds of sauces.. This is a great gift that is welcome anytime!!

Lumpyaas is located in Bacolod City on BS Aquino Street Villamonte, in front of a Dental clinic, by a fruit stand and the old location of a Dexter’s pizza. They’re a little before the Tourist Inn. You can also reach them via their Facebook page or through their telephone number: +63 917 701 0474.

At Bacolod Food Hunters, we’re proud to support local businesses like Lumpyaas that serve delicious food while also inspiring others to pursue their dreams.
