Nolew is an amazing restaurant in Bacolod City that we stumbled upon! It’s nestled right next to a garage, tucked away on one of the charming side streets in Brgy. Villamonte, Bacolod City. The delightful surprise is that the only clue to find this hidden gem is a small sign that proudly displays the name “Nolew.”

Nolew’s is a nice and cozy restaurant. The inside is well-lit, with a few tables and chairs, and there’s a big counter with a chalkboard showing the daily specials.
The chalkboard is also where Nolew displays its new menu items, so check back often to see new and interesting items that you may be interested in.
There is no WiFi in Nolew, so take the opportunity to put away your phone and talk to your friends!
We ordered three of Nolew’s dishes: Pepper steak, Kimchi fried rice with steak, and Pesto Chicken.
We checked Nolew’s chalkboard, and we decided to try something new! For appetizers, we chose to have Nolew’s cheesy potato bombs. These are delicious, deep-fried potato balls with cheese inside. Very appetizing and tasty.
The pepper steak at Nolew was a nice surprise! We thought it would be something unremarkable (sort of like a burger steak), but we got a real steak, cooked medium rare. The steak was soft and tender, and it was served with a delicious pepper gravy and a side salad.
We ordered Nolew’s Kimchi Fried Rice with steak. It was really good! The dish consisted of kimchi fried rice topped with a sunny side up egg and a steak cooked to our liking – we chose medium rare – and then topped with black sesame seeds. It was a tasty, filling, and elegant dish that steak lovers will surely enjoy at Nolew Bacolod.
For pasta, We tried Nolew’s Pesto chicken. It’s made of excellent homemade pesto pasta topped with a whole grilled chicken breast. It’s large and substantial, and more importantly, the chicken breast was still moist and juicy.
For dessert, we had the amazing dark chocolate mousse. It was so good! The portion size was also large enough to share.
The second dessert we tried was their Galleta de Leche. This is a delicious pie that is creamy, a little salty, and rich in caramel. It is delicious and highly recommended.
Nolew is a hidden gem in Bacolod City that is definitely worth a visit. The food is delicious, the service is friendly, and the atmosphere is cozy. It isn’t busy or noisy like other restaurants, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. I would highly recommend Nolew’s to anyone looking for some peace and quiet and a great dining experience in Bacolod City.
And if anybody is wondering why it is called Nolew – it’s just the name of the owner, turned upside down! Nolew – Malou! That’s a clever way to name the restaurant! It’s a nice touch that the owner’s name is incorporated into the name of the restaurant. It also shows a whimsical and playful mood!
